Lottery System

90% of us are good, honest, and reasonable people. We love our country, and we want to do what’s best for it, so we can see it be strong and prosper. That honesty and morality are why most good people stay out of politics, because in order to win elections, you literally need to be corrupt; doing backroom deals, favors, and lying with a straight face to you, the people who are electing them. To solve this issue, our lottery system will randomly pick from the members of the Citizens Lottery Party, who volunteer, to ensure we get the best chance at electing good and honest people. The larger the number of citizens who volunteer, and participate in the lottery, the less likely the corrupt will get elected. If you volunteer, and are chosen, you will have the full backing of the party.

The lottery to elect normal honest people to the legislatures will be a raffle-style system. We will not be using gravity style lottery machines like state-run lotteries, for which you win money. In the state-run lotteries, there is a chance that no one wins, but in a raffle, everyone gets a number and someone will be picked. At all stages of the lottery process, we want the systems and the methods to be transparent, monitored by cameras, viewable to the public, and to law enforcement.

As we raise money and grow, your contributions through our website store will help do the research to design the right type and size of the lottery machine to be used for your state. Look forward to videos documenting our progress. We are all on our way, together, united.

Legislative Lottery: (Federal, State and Local)

Once we have gathered the necessary signatures and registered this political party in your state, the registered members of the Citizens Lottery Party will be able to volunteer to become candidates in the lottery. The lottery will be held a couple of months before the elections and a candidate will be chosen for each open legislative position. Six backup candidates will be drawn in case the initial candidate decides to bow out. All candidates will be subject to a background check and will be disqualified if they have any felonies. If the candidate decides to run, a press conference will be held, and their acceptance of the candidacy will be announced to the public.

In keeping with our party’s philosophy, when our candidates make speeches we discourage them from sharing their political views. What people will hear from our candidates is a reinforcement of our philosophy of electing randomly chosen, good, honest, and normal Americans via a lottery system. The idea is to get good honest people elected, so they can sift through the chaos, do legitimate research, and make the best decisions they can. We expect our candidates’ views to change and adjust as they debate each other, deal with the hard numbers, and the reality of governing.

Don’t discount the wacky ideas:

Our party is made up of the bases of all of the parties and we are endorsing whomever the lottery picks. We will occasionally elect people with some wacky political views, but that doesn’t worry us, because everyone has a wacky view. We don’t want to discount that person because they may be correct or have good solutions on other subjects. There is no sense in shooting them down during the election, because we must remember that they must also prove their ideas before 50 or 100 or up to 400 legislators, who will be doing their own research into the subjects, and sometimes that wacky idea may be the solution we need. Don’t forget, that through debate, honest people will change their views, and may move away from their wacky ideas. Politicians will tell you what you want to hear and then turn around and do what their special interests tell them to do, but in contrast, good uncorrupted people will sift through the evidence and make the best decision can.

It’s going to take several years to remove all the corrupt politicians from our government, because not all politicians are up for reelection. That means that our candidates will have to work with these corrupt politicians until they can be replaced. We also cannot expect someone who is fresh off the street to survive being thrown into the lions’ den of the politicians and survive. Like any new job, there will be some training provided.

Executive Lottery:

In contrast to the Legislative branch, where we just elect the person chosen by the lottery, the position of President, Governor, or Mayor, requires a higher level of management skills. The executive branch and the legislative branch differ in the sense that the legislative branch just makes the laws, but the executive branch has to actually execute and enforce the laws. The Legislatures are like the Board of Directors, whereas the executive branch is essentially the large corporation that must be held together, managed, and if required, forcibly changed by President. Not all people are capable of managing a large organization/business. The American people need to be able to evaluate and decide on a competent leader, so this means, in the spirit of preventing corruption, the Lottery will choose a group of around 1000 randomly selected individuals for the American people to select their President from.

Out of those who volunteer to run for the executive position, the lottery will draw around 1000 candidates from the entire United State population. To prevent corrupting influences the candidates will not campaign or fundraise. Instead the Citizens Lottery Party will hold a series of state and national presentations to showcase the lottery winners and then the candidates will participate in debates conducted by the Citizens Lottery Party to allow the public to decide who they want to elect as President of the United States.

In past presidential debates the moderators have always shown bias against certain candidates, giving hardball questions to some and softball questions to those they favor. In the debates conducted by the Citizens Lottery Party the moderators will not be allowed to ask questions, the questions will come from the candidates to each other. The moderators will be there just to enforce rules and time limits. Our party’s nominees will not be chosen by a select few party heads in a back room, but will be chosen by the vote of the people.
